New PSAT Advice Available

According to the College Board, high school students who will take the Preliminary SAT/
National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) this fall will be the first to receive detailed, personalized feedback on how to improve their skills through the recently introduced Score Report Plus. The College Board sponsors the 130-minute PSAT/NMSQT test that will be given on October 16 and 20 of this year.

The advice will come from educators and will reflect the students’ performance on each of the three parts of the test. The report will focus on up to three skills that need improvement on each of the test’s three parts. A student might be directed to “practice summarizing main ideas when you read” or “practice solving math problems that involve basic probability, basic counting and finding the average.” The Report will also include feedback on each test question, projected SAT scores and how to prepare for an intended major and career. #
