New Day Assistant Program in Queens

Queensborough Community College has established a new day care assistant certificate program that will prepare students to meet minimum requirements leading to the Child Development Associate (CDA) credential issued by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition, a national credentialing agency.

The 30-credit program will be implemented this fall and will consist of a series of general education, social science, health and education courses, as well as extensive field experience. The program will address the development, health, nutrition and first-aid needs of, and educational programs for, preschool children. The field experience will ensure that students fulfill the requirements in the application process for the CDA credential.

Comprehensive advisement will help take students through the certificate program to the application process. #
