Managing
School Records With New Software
By
Pola Rosen, Ed.D.
Elementary
School Scheduler and Class Aggregator are two new
software programs that lead to less paperwork and more effective
management of students, staff and parents in schools. Each program
has a self-tutorial that explains in simple terms what the program
does and how to use it.
The Elementary School Scheduler creates a master schedule from
data, deals with schedule conflicts, and enables the school administrator
to edit and revise schedules.
Class Aggregator lets the administrator import student and teacher
data from other databases, inputs student and teacher information
and develops and manipulates class rosters. For example, the program
assigns students to homeroom classes by criteria set by the school
staff. Part time teacher schedules can also be easily accommodated.
Parent-teacher conferences and student data can be recorded and
reports generated. The software can also incorporate a homework
hotline, attendance calling, and reporting of grades and attendance.
