New Test-Prep Software Designed for the Classroom
By Marie Holmes

The Incredible Tutor System, by Sleek Systems, is a new software application designed to meet the increasing needs of students, teachers, and administrators to prepare for standardized achievement tests.

The programs allow students to familiarize themselves with exam format and to practice their test-taking abilities in a variety of subject areas through great quantities of sample questions.

Teachers will need to chooses the lessons for younger students (grades 1-5) while older students can work on their own.

Each student creates a personal account within the program that tracks, in great detail, his or her progress in different subject areas and success in answering specific types of questions. Because each student, or pair of students, needs access to a computer to use the software, the Incredible Tutor system could be used on a rotating basis in classrooms equipped with one or more computers, as well as in smaller after-school and tutoring programs.

The Incredible Tutor School Version titles include Math, Reading, Spanish Reading, and Writing, for grades 1-2, 3-5, 6-8 and High School, plus Algebra and Biology titles. Each title costs $40-60 per computer for up to 50 computers or $2,000-3,000 for a site license. Sleek Systems also offers software designed for administrators to process the data collected by Incredible Tutor and sells home-use versions of the software. For more information, contact Sleek Systems by telephone at 1-800-337-5335 or online at www.sleek.com.
