Friends at the Robert F. Kennedy School

There is hope for some emotionally disturbed students who have been unsuccessful in mainstream educational environments. The Robert F. Kennedy School, PS 169, helps remediate 160 such students, many from economically disadvantaged homes. With specially trained staff, small classes and supportive surroundings, the school can help students to return to mainstream schools.

For 40 years, volunteers have provided support at PS 169, tutoring students one-on-one. Along with organizing volunteers, the Friends of PS 169 raises funds for children to attend a therapeutic summer camp at Camp Ramapo Anchorage in Rheinbeck, NY.

For more information about the volunteer program at PS 169, contact 212-517-3719.
