Polytechnic Wins 2001 Educators of Distinction Award

Polytechnic University won a 2001 Educators of Distinction Award from Saludos Hispanos/Saludo.com, the leading career and education magazine and Web site for bilingual Hispanics.

The award is given to institutions that demonstrate a commitment to the success of Hispanics in higher education. “We congratulate these institutions that are leading the way, providing high standards of education and career planning and counseling to Hispanic students,” said Rosemarie Garcia-Solomon, publisher of Saludos Hispanicos.

Polytechnic University, founded in 1854, is the nation’s second oldest private science and engineering school and the metropolitan area’s preeminent resource in science and technology.

“We are proud to have received this award and the recognition that our university is committed to educational excellence on behalf of Hispanic students,” said Dr. David C. Chang, president of Polytechnic University.
