Wins 2001 Educators
of Distinction Award
Polytechnic
University won a 2001 Educators of Distinction Award from Saludos
Hispanos/Saludo.com, the leading career and education magazine
and Web site for bilingual Hispanics.
The award is given to institutions that demonstrate a commitment
to the success of Hispanics in higher education. “We congratulate
these institutions that are leading the way, providing high standards
of education and career planning and counseling to Hispanic students,”
said Rosemarie Garcia-Solomon, publisher of Saludos Hispanicos.
Polytechnic University, founded in 1854, is the nation’s second
oldest private science and engineering school and the metropolitan
area’s preeminent resource in science and technology.
“We
are proud to have received this award and the recognition that
our university is committed to educational excellence on behalf
of Hispanic students,” said Dr. David C. Chang, president of Polytechnic
