General Scholarships

All USA College Academic Team: Nominated college students write a 250-word essay describing the most outstanding intellectual endeavor of their college career. 60 applicants receive recognition in USA Today and 20 receive $2,500. Coca-Cola Scholarships: High school seniors planning to attend college are eligible for awards based on leadership, character, academic record and extracurricular activities. Awards will partially reflect the demographic profiles of selection districts. Semifinalists submit a second application, including an essay, secondary school report and recommendations. Fifty $20,000 scholarships and 100 $4,000 scholarships are awarded for four years. Initial deadline: October 2001. Contact:

Encyclopedia Americana Scholarship Contest: High school juniors and seniors who correctly answer ten questions using the EA Online database (ea.grolier.com) will be entered into a random drawing. Panasonic Young Soloists Award: Vocalists or instrumentalists up to age 25 who plan to study music and have a physical or mental disability are eligible.
