The Aspen Institute Holds 28th Award Dinner

The institute’s 28th annual awards dinner took place at the Plaza Hotel recently, which honored former U.S. Secretary of State Madeline Albright with the Henry Crown Leadership Award. Cory Booker, mayor of Newark, N.J., Kaya Henderson, chancellor of Washington, D.C., Public School System, and Joel Klein, former chancellor of the New York City Department of Education, received the Aspen Institute Public Service Award for Leadership in Education. A panel discussion with the awardees preceded the ceremony.

The Aspen Institute mission is to foster values-based leadership, encouraging individuals to reflect on the ideals and ideas that define a good society, and to provide a neutral and balanced venue for discussing and acting on critical issues. #
