NEW AT LINCOLN CENTER
Artistic and Educational Initiatives Planned; Virtual Time Capsule Launched
Lincoln Center announced a yearlong 50th Anniversary Celebration that will begin in May 2009 and continue through May 2010. We invite you to share this very special time with us by participating in numerous artistic and educational programs that will acknowledge our past with an eye to the future.
“It is with great excitement that we approach this major milestone,” said Lincoln Center Chairman Frank A. Bennack, Jr. “Since Lincoln Center began in the 1950s, it has continued to shape the performing arts locally, nationally, and globally and to influence the millions of people who visit, the thousands of artists who perform here and the hundreds of students who attend our renowned conservatories each year.”
Please join us as we look back on fifty years, and look forward to the boldly innovative redevelopment of our magnificent campus.
“This is truly a transformative time for Lincoln Center—both artistically and institutionally,” said Lincoln Center President Reynold Levy. “It is also one of the most important moments in our history, as we prepare to welcome visitors to our newly revitalized and more accessible and open campus and to celebrate our 50th anniversary with an exciting yearlong series of events and initiatives.”#
