RE: New York’s Manumission (Free the Slaves!)
To the Editor:
Self-serving tripe. The North profited from slavery just as much as the South, and was not particularly inclined to abolish it until the fear of slave revolts overwhelmed them, particularly in NYC. For a more accurate view of Northern slavery and hypocrisy, see www.slavenorth.com.

RE: Profiles in Education: Nane Annan
To the Editor:
She seems such a wonderful person I wish I could get her personal website address. As a Ghanaian I am proud she is part of my country.

RE: The Stephen Gaynor School
To the Editor:
I work at a school that serves a population similar to the Steven Gaynor School. The only difference is we serve a population that is severely underserved. I would be very interested in learning more about how the school meets the everyday challenges for kids with a learning disability. This would help me better serve the students who I teach on a daily basis at The Lorge School

RE: A Glimpse into the Imprisonment of Jean Harris
To the Editor:
My nephews are looking into financial assistance for college, both have good grades, ages 19 and 21. Their father is serving 23 years in prison for murder, and the family is in serious financial trouble. How can we get help?

Excellent article. Request for help: I have a 20 year old son in Lee Correctional Institute in Bishopville, SC. I want him to obtain his AA or AS degree in Business while he is incarcerated. Please send any information about college for incarcerated men in SC.

RE: Kurt Landgraf, ETS Pres. & CEO Refocuses Premier Testing Organization
To the Editor:
I am a student at IPFW in Fort Wayne, Indiana. I have a friend who is visually impaired and she has been trying to take the praxis test since August. It is unbelievable that with the amount of recourses that are available and technology at this time she cannot get an accommodation.

RE: Lab Schools Lead the Way in Educational Practice
To the Editor:
Great article that truly represents a great school...HGSD proves that innovation and excellence cost more in terms of effort, intellect and commitment than they do in terms of cash.
